Medical Visa is meant for those foreigners whose sole objective of visit to India is to seek medical treatment in established/recognized/specialized Hospital /Treatment Centres in India for serious ailments. The applicant is required to produce Medical certificate/advice from established/ recognized/specialized Hospital/Treatment Centres in India confirming the dates, place(s) and the duration of the treatment. Although not exhaustive, the following list of ailments would be of primary consideration: Serious ailments like neuro-surgery; ophthalmic disorders; heart-related problems; renal disorders; organ transplantation; congenital disorders; gene-therapy; radio-therapy; plastic surgery; joint replacement, etc.

The initial duration of the Visa is up to a year or the period of the treatment, whichever is less. The Visa will be valid for a maximum of 3 entries during the 1 year.

As the term suggests, visas-on-arrival are issued when the visitor arrives in a country. Travellers need not apply for a visa beforehand. Government authorities generally examine the visitor’s passport and may collect any applicable fees before issuing the documentation. Some countries also take biometrics to confirm the visitor’s identity, and check things like their immigration and criminal history. Like a normal visa, the visa-on-arrival is printed on the passport, which therefore must have enough empty pages to accommodate a stamp. This process takes place at the point of entry, such as airports and large ports.

Individuals entering a foreign country for travel or leisure purposes must apply for a tourist or traveler visa. For instance, Germany's Schengen tourist/visitor visa enables bearers to visit Germany and 26 other member states within the Schengen area. Recipients must have no intentions of studying or working during their stay.

A work visa generally refers to a document allowing entry into a country for employment purposes. A work permit, on the other hand, is typically a document granted by a specific country's government, allowing a foreign national already in the country to work. The exact definitions can vary by country.

A business visa is a government-issued document that permits the holder to enter a foreign country for business purposes for a specified duration. These purposes may include attending business meetings, conferences or seminars, training sessions, or exploring business opportunities.
